A first American edition of Out of Africa, written by Karen Blixen under the pen name Izak Dinesin. This edition of the memoir was manufactured by the Stratford Press of New York and published in 1938 by Random House. The book is an orange and black clothbound hardcover with a gilt image of a flamingo on the front cover, and includes an illustrated dust jacket.
