An antique original naïve barnyard genre oil painting on canvas by an anonymous artist, completed some time during the turn of the 19th century into the 20th. The piece depicts a row of five brown and white puppies in a rustic barn setting as some of them reach for a saucer of milk to the foreground. The unsigned work is presented without glass in an antique moulded wood frame, likely original to the work, with a natural stained finish and a hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- three small tears to canvas at upper center, lower center, and lower left; toning and fading to canvas and verso; wear and abrasions to frame; no backing paper present.
