Edwardian Tantalus Decanter Set in Birdseye Maple

An Edwardian Tantalus in birdseye maple, which houses two glass decanters. The piece has brass accents and a keyhole in front with a drawer below, the key is provided. The lid of the box portion is glass and framed with the birdseye maple, and raises when unlocked. Two clear glass decanters with stoppers sit inside the case.The purpose of the Tantalus was to keep alcohol away from unauthorized drinkers while keeping it displayed in an attractive container. The name references the unsatisfied temptations of Greek mythological character Tantalus.
Condition
Some discoloration of brass. Inside of drawer shows use. One of brass sidebars is slightly loose. Evidence of very minor scratches to wood.
