1930s-Era Aetna Radio

Item Details

A vintage Aetna radio. This tabletop radio has a wooden cabinet with a red-and-white front panel. The dial has a globe logo reading ‘Aetna’; this brand name was used on radios sold by Walgreens. A label on the reverse reads, in part, ‘Licensed by Radio Corporation of America For Radio Amateur Experimental & Broadcast Reception’ and ‘Licensed by Hazeltine Corporation…’.

Condition

- wear, marks and staining to cabinet; back plate missing; rust and deterioration of wires visible to interior; damaged power cord; untested.
