A finely hand-knotted Indo-Persian wool area rug. The rug features a saturated indigo field with arabesque designs in shades of deep ruby, cornflower blue, mustard yellow, olive, mauve, vermillion red, grey, tan, cream, light yellow, lilac, and petal pink. The main border features a vermillion red ground with a series of herati and palmette designs in shades of mauve, petal pink, pale yellow, sage, olive, white, navy, and cornflower blue. The rug features tightly overcast selvedge and dense, tied cotton fringe at either end. Unlabeled.
