Item Details

A collection of lithograph prints on paper of French street scenes titled ‘Tour de Gros-Horloge, Evereux’ by Richard Parkes Bonnington (1801-1824) and ‘Morlaix’ by Eugene Cicerio (1813-1890). Depicted in the first are townspeople bustling through the street with a clock tower looming in the background. The text to the bottom margin roughly translates to: ‘Big clock tower, built under the rule of the English in 1417’ and is labelled edition 366/433 to verso. The second depicts another shadowed street view with a group of ladies gathered to the side. Inscribed to the bottom margin is ‘Morlaix, Bretagne’ with edition 371/413 to the verso. Informative labels present to the verso of both pieces. Prints reproduced by the Continental Lithograph Corporation and are without signatures. Presented under glass in wooden frames with wire hangers to verso.
