Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine
Item Details
A circa 1890s antique Singer treadle sewing machine. It has a cabinet with an oak body and a cast iron base. There is a carved oak cover over the machine. The cabinet features four small drawers for sewing supplies, with brass pulls, and a drop leaf work surface to one side. The piece rolls on casters, and the machine was in working condition at the time of cataloging.
Condition
- some wood finish discoloration and other cosmetic wear consistent with age. Pumping the treadle moved the belt and caused the needle to rise and fall, but the machine was not fully tested as far as actually sewing fabric.
