A hand-knotted Tabriz wool area rug. The rug features a central pendant medallion in taupe, black, powder blue, sage green and cream with embellished spandrels in a complementary palette. The field is deep salmon in color with floral patterns and lancet leaves throughout and is enclosed by a compound border. The border features a pattern of large floral palmettes and vines on a black field. It has overcast edges and a wool fringe. It has a handwritten production number to the verso but is otherwise unlabeled.
