Semi Antique Hand Knotted Persian Mallayer Sarouk Area Rug

Item Details

A semi antique Persian Mallayer Sarouk area rug circa 1930. The rug has a large diamond shaped central medallion in a palette of cream, red and blue. The red field features an interwoven arabesque pattern of blue and cream colored flowers with lanceolate leaves. The rug has corner spandrels in cream and blue with palmettes in corners and along the sides. The rug has a compound Herati border on a field of red with a natural warp fringe to either end.

Condition
