20th-Century Impressionistic Oil Painting on Canvas Town Scene
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas impressionistic cityscape signed by the artist. A prominent central fountain shoots water from its top tiers surrounded by a stepped circular platform. A horse drawn carriage emerges from the left while three woman and a child stand to the right. Rendered in short, thick brush strokes with emphasis on the portrayal of light in the scene. Signed to the lower right as, ‘Duval.’ Presented without glass, with a linen frame liner, and housed in a Louis XIV style gilt and gesso frame.
