Offset Lithographs of Art Nouveau Style Opera Posters "The Magic Flute" and "La Traviata"

Item Details

A set of two offset lithographs on paper of Art Nouveau style opera posters for Mozart’s The Magic Flute nad Verdi’s La Traviata. In The Magic Flute, Tamino stands with a valiant expression and one arm outstretched, holding the flute while the Queen of the Night looks down from above. Papageno is off to the side, partially obscured by a column and wearing his mask and skirt of feathers. They are in a desert landscape with pyramids in the background and a lion’s statue in front of them. La Traviata depicts a romantic scene between Alfredo and Violetta framed by an arched trellis, with white roses growing in front. On both posters, the title text is printed above the main imagery and the composer’s name is to the upper right corner. They are presented behind glass in black metal frames that are wired for hanging.
