A mixed media watercolor and ink on paper by artist C. L. Cunningham, titled The Distance. This painting depicts a half-nude woman standing with her back turned on a sandy beach. She wears a long, pale purple dress and sun hat. The loose pools of pigment are reinforced by frenetic, gold tone linework. To the lower right corner of the composition is a monogrammed artist signature. The painting is float mounted between glass in a black wooden frame with a sawtooth bracket to the verso for hanging. Written to the verso of the painting is a title and artist signature.
