A 1988 artist’s proof serigraph poster on paper for the 1989 Mobile, Alabama Mardis Gras by Southern American artist C.L. Cunningham. The piece depicts an array of colorful Mardis Gras imagery including a king and queen, a skeleton and floral designs. The poster includes decorative text of “The Original Mardis Gras, Mobile, 1989” printed to the top and bottom, as well as fine print of “Copyright 1988, CL Cunningham” to the lower left margin. The print is signed in pen to the lower right and noted in pen as “AP” to the lower left. It is presented without glass in a gold tone metal frame with hanging wire to the verso. - frame does not include glass; paper is buckled inside frame; minor toning to print; scuffing and wear to frame finish.
