A five volume set of Paintings and Statues From the Collection of President Sukarno of the Republic of Indonesia. Compiled by Lee Man-Fong, published by Toppan Printing Company, Japan, 1964; these volumes feature a red dust jacket with gold script and highlights, covering leather clad black boards with gilt script to spine and front. Each volume is filled with color plates of the vast and varied art found in the collection of former Indonesian President Sukarno, the first leader of independent Indonesia after freedom from Dutch colonization. President Sukarno ruled with autocratic ‘Guided Democracy,’ from 1945-1967, until The September Movement which saw his replacement in the form of general Suharto.
