A needlepoint Aubusson-style area rug. Features a cream tone ground with roosters, floral, foliate and fauna designs throughout. Various butterflies and frogs are noted throughout the field. The rug includes a major border with a cream tone ground featuring floral and vining designs throughout and minor borders in gold, beige and grey tones. The piece is marked to the underside and the design is noted as ‘Savonnerie’.
