A metal folk art sculpture made with recycled steel drum materials by listed Haitian artist Serge Jolimeau (born 1952). The piece depicts a pregnant mermaid figure surrounded by two seagulls and two snakes. The work includes textured accents to the mermaid’s tail and hair, as well as to the birds’ feathers. It is marked with an incised artist’s signature to the front, located at the center of the mermaid figure. The piece is mounted to a metal rod that rests on a rounded metal base lined with green felt to the underside.

- to Fair; rust and corrosion present; scratching and surface wear throughout; several small cracks and abrasions.
