A power-loomed Bijar wool area rug by Karastan. This American-made rug is rendered in a palette of camel, salmon, midnight blue, cerulean, and sapphire. It begins with a herati diamond medallion at the center of a field grounded successively in sapphire, camel, midnight blue, and salmon, each phase featuring a variation of a herati pattern. Framing the field are four borders, including a primary border featuring an elaborately stylized samovar pattern over salmon. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with applied, camel-colored fringe. It is labeled on the reverse.
