A collection of oil paintings on board of various architectural landscapes. Included is a painting of simple homes, including a mobile home surrounded by flowers and birds flying in the cloudy blue sky hovering above. This painting is signed ‘Edith Hoven’ to the lower right and remains unframed. The second painting features a figural lanscape with village buildings and townspeople selling and buying items in the street. This painting is porrayed with loose brushstrokes and suppressed detail; it is not signed and remains unframed. The third painting features a Mediterranean architectural landscape with townspeople buying and selling flowers. This painting is signed ‘A.E. Plummer’ to the lower left and remains unfarmed. The final work features a canal winding throughout a Mediterranean townscape. This painting is signed ‘Plogsted’ and dated 1928 to the lower right; it remains unframed. ‘Buchl’ is also handwritten to the verso’.
Condition
- wear along edges of all paintings, including, stains, paint loss, rips, fraying, and bending; stains scattered throughout all paintings; small hole present to lower right area of Edith Hoven painting.
