A late 20th-century oil painting on velvet folk art farm scene by listed American painter Bill Rank (1921-2000). Taking influence from theorem paintings of the late 19th-century, a rural farm scene is depicted with simple figural forms and planes of rich color. In the foreground is a pumpkin patch with wheat sheaves, pumpkins and a scarecrow. A man and his dog corral a herd of pigs into their pen while a women tends to the cabbage to the right. The barn structure to the left and house to the right are divided by a dirt road that leads into rollings hills and a vibrant sunset. Signed to the lower left. Presented behind glass and housed in a red grain painted wood frame.
