Reproduction Woodblock After Hosoda Eishi "Green House Beauty"
Item Details
A reproduction woodblock after artist Chōbunsai Eishi (鳥文斎 栄之, 1756–1829), titled Green House Beauty. This print depicts an Edo-period woman wearing a traditional kimono sitting with a brush held to her head, staring longingly at a stack of bound pages on a bench. To the left portion of the composition is a small unrolled scroll decorated with a flower and Japanese characters, which is complemented to the margins by vertical arrangements of Japanese characters as well as an artist seal. The print is presented under plexi-glass in a bronze tone wooden frame featuring bamboo patterning and a sawtooth bracket to the verso for hanging.

- plexi-glass could benefit from dusting; wear to frame; wear to paper backing; sticker residue to lower right corner of frame verso.
