A restrike woodblock print after Japanese artist Kaigetsudo Doshin (懐月堂度辰, active 1704-1716), titled Teahouse Beauty Wearing Robe with Hagoromo Design. This print on rice paper depicts a woman dressed in a traditional Japanese robe, which swirls around her with curvaceous linework. It is detailed with what appear to be Jellyfish and other abstracted sea creatures rendered in a pastel palette reinforced by black pigment. To the lower left corner of the composition is a vertical arrangement of Japanese characters and two seals, serving as the artist’s signature. The print is presented under glass beneath a single-layered mat in a bronze tone wooden frame featuring bamboo patterning and hanging wire to the verso.
