An antique large-format engraving on paper titled Authors of the United States by Thomas Hicks and engraved by Alexander Hay Ritchie, circa 1866. The engraving depicts several of the 19th century’s most well-known authors. In the background are sculptures of Shakespeare and Chaucer. It is presented under glass and housed in a period frame with a gilt liner.

- some damage to frame; toning and foxing to engraving.
