A handsome partial set of vintage books, fourteen volumes of Modern Eloquence -A Library of the World’s Best Spoken Thought. Published in 1929 by the Lincoln Scholarship Fund the volumes were edited by Ashley Thorndike and are bound in tooled and gilt leatherette. The set was published as a series of ‘after dinner speeches’ and covers a wide range of topics, missing volume 14 from the set.
