French Faience Glazed Ceramic Oyster Plates Including Longwy
Item Details
A group of two French faience glazed ceramic oyster plates. There is one white plate with molded shell shaped indentations around a central well which are finished in green glaze. It has a blurred back stamp reading in part ‘Decor Grand’ ‘Made In France’ with a windmill. The Longwy plate is also round, with indentations to the surface, and is finished in an opaque, peach colored glaze. It is marked with a crown above a floral decorated cartouche with ‘Longwy’ below and ‘France’. The back stamp is also blurred.
