Leonine Oak Windsor Chair

Item Details

A oak Windsor style armchair with a dark stain and leonine decorations. Features a heavy crest rail carved with an ivy pattern encircling a fleur-de-lis patera, and rests on seven turned spindles. The arms are carved with the heads of roaring lions, and mounted on four turned supports each. The seat was carved from a single piece of wood, and rises on four turned and tapered legs joined by a double H stretcher; the front two legs terminate in carved ball and claw feet.
