Hand-Knotted and Carved Chinese "War Horse" Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted and carved Chinese war horse area rug. The rug features a central medallion and four surrounding tile medallions that are each deep blue in color. Each medallion houses an array of war horses in a palette of cream and shades of brown with each medallion on a cream field. The field is enclosed by a compound border that features a key pattern throughout the guard border and a war horse pattern along either short end. It has an overcast edge, a short Kilim skirt and a wool fringe to either end and is marked to one end in black.
