An oil painting on board by an anonymous artist after the 1803 painting titled The Bowden Children by John Hoppner (English, 1758-1810). This depicts the young John William dressed in blue and green velvet, drawing on a a board that rests on his raised knee, while his sister, Mary Anne, dressed in a white gown, leans against his back. They are surrounded by an idealized landscape with rooftops visible in the distance. It is unsigned and presented in a wooden frame that is wired for hanging.

- fair; some toning and discoloration to the glaze; some surface wear to the frame.
