An original 1928 double-sided oil painting on composite board by well-listed American artist Marston Hodgin (Ohio/California; 1903 – 2003). The primary, forward-facing image depicts a rural wooded landscape at a clearing with a pond, rendered in late autumn. The reverse depicts a floral still life, and is signed and dated by the artist. This work is mounted in a beveled wood frame with cast veneer and a gilt finish, equipped to hang.

Condition

- frame is worn with chips, cracking and abrasions. Painting is damaged around outer edges and corners with loss. Accretion on painting.
