Selection of Hand-Painted Nootka Canoe Paddles

A selection of hand-painted canoe paddles, attributed to the Canadian Nootka tribe. Each wooden paddle has a long, neatly tapered form down to a point, with a grip at the narrow end. Two feature images of birds or eagles with other small decorative elements, one has an image of a man in traditional dress, and three feature a black abstract symbolic design. One features a red and black fish, likely representing a salmon, to end. One is tagged, but they are otherwise unmarked.

- light wear to painted surfaces; light marks to wood.
