A Fred Slocombe etching after an 1883 Frederick Albert Slocombe (English, 1847 – c.1920) work titled A Pleasant Shady Lane. The hand tinted etching depicts a bucolic landscape with winding dirt road lined with towering trees, traveled by a horse-drawn wagon, the sun casting shadows across the road to the both the foreground and the mid ground. The work is titled to the center, with artist’s name printed to the left and etcher’s name to the right. Displayed under glass in an off white silk mat with gilded filet, and a gilded beveled wood frame. Wired to the back for wall hanging.
