A 1782 antique hardcover edition of The Journey from Chester to London, by famed Welsh naturalist and travel writer Thomas Pennant (1726-1798). The work is one of his travel narratives, describing the journey from Chester, in northwestern England near the border with northern Wales, to London in the south. It is illustrated with engravings, and provides commentary on the history, landscape, and architecture Pennant encountered on the way. This makes the work an interesting glimpse at 18th century Britain. It is bound in a leather hardcover with a speckled finish and a paneled spine.

Condition

- moderate cover wear and paper yellowing consistent with age. Interior is clean with minimal foxing. The hinges are cracked but the boards are still attached, and the bindings are solid.
