Batik Dyeing Step-by-Step Process Display

Item Details

A display of the step-by-step process used to create a pattern using the batik method of wax-resist dyeing cloth. This vertically-oriented display has nine square windows, each demonstrating a different step of wax application, dye, and wax removal as the viewer moves down the column to create a final four-color design. The imagery is a traditional Javanese style floral pattern with peacocks in the center, in a palette of white, ochre, sky blue, and indigo. It is presented in a wood frame with a sawtooth bracket for hanging.
