Oak Chinese Ingot Chest
Item Details
An oak Chinese ingot chest. Crafted from unfinished oak, this piece has a study, thick appearance, with reinforced rabbeted joints for stability as brass-toned hardware. The top features two flip-up sections, affixed with East Asian-style bar latches, that open to chest-like storage areas within. A lower cabinet, latched by a similar heavy bar lock and with prominent round hinges, opens to reveal a large lower storage area. The entire structure rises on thick block legs with corner braces.

Condition
- nicks and wear consistent with age and use; stain marks to interior of cabinets; tarnish to metal; wood has many mars, scratches, and impacted nails, especially on the interior, signifying that it may have been formed from recycled wood; may benefit from light cleaning.
