Vintage Sewing Machine by Hochschild Kohn in Wooden Console
Item Details
A vintage sewing machine by Hochschild Kohn, dating to the late 1940s or 1950s. The top flips open to reveal the sewing machine, which rises to a sitting position for use. The sewing machine is black with a red, blue, and yellow Art Deco pattern trim, with the words ‘Hochschild Kohn & Co.’ stenciled across the arm; a badge reading ‘Precision built for Hochschild Kohn Co., Baltimore, Md., Made in Japan’ is attached to the base of the machine’s post. The cabinet also features a dark walnut stain, a false front with dummy round pulls, and fluted balusters that lead into four straight legs terminating in spade feet.
