A collection of offset lithographs titled Portfolio of Horses after listed artist Wesley Dennis (1903-1966) paintings from Album of Horses. The twenty-three equestrian and Western-themed works depict show horses, cowboys and Native Americans riding horses, "Misty" from the Dennis illustrated book Misty of Chincoteague and more. Included in the portfolio’s gray paperboard folder is a booklet with commentary for each print about the breed’s history and purpose by the author Marguerite Henry (1992-1997). This guide was published by Rand McNally, copyright 1952, and each print is signed in the plate to the lower right below the image "Wesley Dennis" and at the bottom "From Album of Horses, copyright 1951 by Rand McNally & Company".

Condition

- toning and wear to folder and booklet; pinholes to upper margin of a few prints.
