Antique Slate Mantel Clock With Garnitures by S. Marti et Cie
Item Details
An antique slate mantel clock with garnitures by Samuel Marti et Cie, circa late 19th century. The black slate case features a brass tone, urn-form finial with scrolled-foliate terminals above a stepped cornice. Directly below is a round, Arabic-numeral dial centered by a pierced, gilt-metal medallion and covered by a beveled-glass bezel. The case is further embellished with red marble inlays and incised, geometric motifs. The back has a hinged, brass tone door opening to the movement, which is marked ‘Medaille De Bronze / S. Marti et Cie’. It is numbered ‘13247’ and ‘48’. The clock rises on gilt-metal, paw front feet and bracket-style back feet. Also included are two matching garnitures with candleholders.

- to fair; some small nicks and chips; some light tarnishing/finish losses to metal components; missing pendulum and key; clock not tested.
