A late 19th/early 20th-century Continental oil painting on canvas signed G. Monnin. Depicted is a dark haired woman placing a pink flower behind her ear and gazing into the bond below to look at her reflection. She is dressed in classical white, flowing drapery. She leans over a fluted pedestal with a small knife appearing on the top surface. In the background a woman peaks her head out from behind a large door. Signed to the lower right in paint. Presented without glass, housed in a later 20th-century ornate gilt and gesso frame.
Condition
- canvas appears to have been relined; some inpainting present right center; minor craqulure present throughout; frame has some minor scratches to the corners.
