Vintage Federal Style Mahogany Server by Drexel

Item Details

A vintage Federal style mahogany server by Drexel. The veneered case features a rectangular, bowfront top with a rear, three-quarter gallery above a removable serving tray with frontal, ring pulls and lateral, cutout handles. Directly below are two aligned, machine-dovetailed drawers over one long drawer and a pair of cabinet doors. The fronts are embellished with dark- and lightwood stringing and the drawers are fitted with oval, brass tone pulls embossed with urns and foliate motifs. One of the aligned drawers has a four-compartment, felt-lined interior for storing flatware and the server rises on a molded, plinth base. One drawer interior is stamped ‘by Drexel’ and the back is marked ‘3241-3 / By Drexel / 452’.
