Item Details
A hand-knotted Pak-Persian area rug. This wool rug, likely made in Pakistan, is rendered in a palette of red, navy, powder blue, and ivory. It features a central diamond medallion grounded in navy over a red field. The medallion, field, and spandrels are populated with numerous stylized sprays of flowers, trees of life, and other symbolic motifs. Framing the field are four borders, including a stylized herati main border over navy. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with a short kilim skirt and knotted cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
