An oil painting on canvas of a man holding a pipe, by an artist signing the work what appears to read ‘Alla.’ This piece uses rich color to depict a man in a shadowy room, looking thoughtfully at a pipe he holds in one hand. This painting is signed ‘Alla 17’ to its lower right corner, and is presented in a grayish frame with gold tone detailing and a wire to the verso for hanging.

- edge wear to frame; moderate crackling throughout painting surface; minor rips to canvas; residue to surface; stretcher marks; warping to canvas corners; repairs and in-painting have been made around figure’s head.
