An original 1844 hand-colored stone lithograph book plate illustrated by very well-listed zoological and ornithological illustrator John William Hill (1812 – 1879) from the publication Zoology of New York, or the New-York Fauna, Part II, Birds by James Ellsworth De Kay and published by J. F. Schreibe. The publication’s lithography was completed by George Endicott and Packard, Gavit & Co. New York. This is Plate 66 from the publication and includes Figures 150-152. The print is matted in white with a French line and is presented behind glass in an angled wooden frame with a hanging wire.

Condition

- print is slightly yellowed, consistent with age.
