A collection of paintings, mostly on paper, of European cityscapes. This collection of five pieces includes watercolor paintings of a street scattered with figures, and a carefully-rendered cathedral with a shadowy monument visible before it. Both pieces are marked illegibly in what appears to be a Slavic languages and dated ‘-96’ to their lower right margins. Also included is a purple-and-yellow watercolor painting featuring the spires and domes of a city at dusk, a loose watercolor of a bascule bridge spanning a wide river, and a colorful oil painting on loose canvas of a Russian Orthodox Cathedral, none of which are signed. These pieces are presented with thin paper mats and without frames or hanging hardware.
Condition
- foxing and wear to some mats and edges; all have a tendency to curl due to being stored rolled.
