A hand-knotted Indo-Heriz runner. This wool rug, likely made in India, features a Heriz design in a palette of brick red, royal blue, cerulean, and cream. It begins with three vertically arranged octagram medallions grounded in cerulean over a red field. The field is populated with palmettes, flowers, leaves, and vines, which continue into the spandrels. Framing the field is a border grounded in royal blue and featuring palmettes in different iterations. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with undyed kilim skirts and knotted natural wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
