Handwoven Anatolian Area Kilim
Item Details
A handwoven Anatolian area kilim. This plain weave wool rug is rendered in a lively palette consisting of several shades of red, saffron, cream, and cerulean. It features a geometric design beginning with a field of chevron stripes in different colors, each stripe containing a geometric meandering carnation pattern. The field is framed by four box borders, including a wide primary border grounded in red and filled with kirkbudak medallions with hooks amid other geometric motifs. Edges are serged, with protectives strips sewn along the undersides. The rug is unlabeled.
