A copy painting by John Priest after Jean Francois Millet, titled The Angelus. This painting on canvas depicts a couple standing with their heads bowed, clasping their hands in prayer over a wicker basket filled with produce. To the distance is an expansive, pastoral field that has been tilled. Found to the lower right corner of the composition is an artist signature. The painting is presented in a stained wooden frame featuring a linen liner and hanging wire to the verso.

- brown droplet marks to canvas and liner at upper left; wear and nicks to frame; abrasions and scuffs to frame verso.
