M.R.H. Oil Portrait on Panel of Pensive Child in Pink Shirt

An oil painting on panel signed ‘M.R.H.’. The piece depicts the portrait of a child in a pink shirt looking pensively to one side. The work is rendered in a palette of mottled pink and brown hues and is signed in muted red paint to the lower right. It is presented without glass in a wooden frame with embossed foliate accents to the front and hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- to Fair; wear to edges of painting, with small areas of flaking and paint loss; some scratches to center of canvas; frame joints are separating at corners; surface wear, scratching and chipping to frame; small holes to backing paper.
