An oil painting on canvas board of a fisherman attributed to Kentucky artist Mr. Scott. This Impressionist painting depicts a standing figure in a docked boat casting a reel while fishing. He is cast in moonlight, set before a grassy shore with a rolling hillside seen to the distance. The painting is presented in a wooden frame brushed with bronze paint. To the verso is affixed hanging wire and a handwritten note of provenance from the painting’s prior owner, dated 1960.
Condition
- edge wear present; board has shifted to the left in frame; worn edges of canvas board; scuffing and wear to frame verso and backing board; staining to backing board; two pieces of tape at lower leg of frame verso.
