A vintage hand-knotted Turkish wool area rug. The 7.4′ × 3.8′ rug features a large central hexagonal medallion in a palette of light tan, grey, ochre, and russet on a large madder red field. The compound border features a repeating foliate and geometric design in a complementary palette and is finished with natural warp fringe to either end.
