Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Kerman Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Kerman area rug. This wool rug features a rose medallion on a cochineal red field with purling floral sprays, accented by corner spandrels. The primary border offers a meandering floral variation of a cloud band that if flanked by guard borders on each side. The rug is finished with overcast selvedge edges and a wool warp fringe on either end. A tag with Farsi writing is attached to the reverse, otherwise unlabeled.
