Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Sarouk Area Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique Persian Sarouk wool rug. This small area rug is hand-knotted in a palette of dark cranberry, midnight blue, sapphire, and cream. It begins with a quatrefoil loose floral medallion seeded with a star, the medallion resting on a field of dark cranberry. The field is populated with classic Sarouk sprays of flowers, vines, and lancet leaves. It is framed by three borders, including a stylized herati primary border grounded in midnight blue. Selvedges are overcast in red, the rug finishing at either end with very short warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
